March Madness

Matt Belinson, reporter

Every march, the college basketball world comes to life with the annual March Madness Tournament. Usually the top 25 teams in the NCAA are the favorites to win the National Championship.

Not this year, no one is the favorite and people like that.

Every fan and casual viewer make their own bracket. It is the staple of the March Madness experience. With the amount of surprises this year, upsets and changes in the top 25 every week make this year a year for the taking.

The Capital One NCAA March Madness Bracket Challenge is the only place where you can watch live games from your bracket. Entering the official bracket game of NCAA.com guarantees you a chance to win one of 16 prizes, including the grand prize, which is a trip to the 2017 Final Four as a VIP guest. Other prizes include $50 gift cards to Fanatics.com.

“The reason most people watch the tournament is the unpredictable nature of the field”, said Jay Bilas, a prominent college basketball analyst.

“I feel this year can become one for the storybooks. If it stays this way, my bracket may be in jeopardy.”

The official tournament isn’t until 3/15-3/16. The process of selecting the teams for the “Big Dance” is on 3/13. Everyone on the bubble hopes to fight the final weeks to get in the field. Once you’re in, anything can happen.

To make or get your own bracket, download the ESPN Bracket Maker app or go to the NCAA’s website and print off your own. Let the dance begin.
