Wizard World Comic Con Madison

Wizard World Comic Con Madison

Cassiana Pozzi and Kayleigh Phillips, Entertainment editor and reporter

The weekend of April 9, Wizard World hosted a convention in Madison, WI. Many famous actors attended this event including, but not limited to, David Tennant, Alex Kingston, Brett Dalton, Elizabeth Henstridge,  and Billie Piper. During the three days this convention took place, the appearances of these actors ranged from photo ops, autograph booths, and panels. Another big thing at this convention is the vendors. As soon as you walk in, you’re met with hundreds of booths selling a variety of pop culture and fandom items. From buttons and comics to figurines and posters, you’re guaranteed to find something you or a friend would love. Aside from vendors, props from famous T.V. shows also made an appearance at the convention. These included the Supernatural Impala, the Dumb and Dumber van, and Back to the Future car.

We attended this convention on the last day, Sunday the 10th. The day started bright and early at eight when we left for Madison. Lucky for us when we arrived the lines weren’t as long as they normally are and we got through quickly. The first thing we did was check in at the photo op booth before continuing to walk through the many vendors. An hour or so passed before we had to get back to the lines in time for our photo op with Marvel’s Agents of Shield star Brett Dalton. We were called in after waiting for few minutes. Our picture with him was really quick but he was so nice to us and all of the others fans. As soon as we finished our photo op and got our picture, we had to get back in line for another star of Marvel’s Agents of Shield, Elizabeth Henstridge. We had to wait a bit longer in that line, but they finally called us back to take the pictures. Elizabeth was extremely nice to everyone and we had more time with her than with Brett.

Later in the afternoon, I (Cassiana Pozzi) went back and bought an autograph with Elizabeth before she left. There was nobody in line so I ended up being able to talk to her for a while. She autographed our photo op picture and was asking me questions about where I was from and what I liked about the show. It was so amazing to be able to talk one of my favorite actresses for as long as I was able to.

It was a bittersweet ending to the day when we had to leave, saying goodbye to a day filled with many laughs. Wizard World Comic Con travels all over the U.S and will be back in the area around August when they will be bringing the stars to Chicago.
