North’s girls golf team is off to a solid start. They have started so far with a record of 5-3. The three losses that the team has came from their three matches against the Rockford co-op team. On Saturday Sep 10, North got fourth in an invitational tournament against a number of different teams in the area. The tournament consisted of a mixture of conference and nonconference team from all over Northern Illinois.

Tournaments like these are a great way for the team to see how they stack up against the competition for the Conference tournament at the end of the year. This tournament decides the final standings for the Nic-10 Conference.

“I want to perform at my best at Regionals so that I can qualify for Sectionals,” said Morgan McNulty(‘18).

This Regionals tournament is the big tournament at the end of the year where teams from all over the area to place for Sectionals. Only a certain number of teams can go, but once they are decided, a number of individuals can place to go down to Sectionals and perform against other individuals. The Sectional tournament is going to be a much harder task for North if they get there. With the best team’s and individuals in the area there, those that make it are definitely going to have to prove themselves if they wish to make it to the State tournament at the very end of the season.

North has high hopes for the season, and the talent to back it up. They look to Qualify at Regionals and make it to Sectionals.
