Girls basketball looks to improve on last year

The Lady Thunder look to have a comeback year compared to last season.  Last season, the team took fifth place in the NIC-10 and look for redemption.  The ladies lost two major seniors, Grace Murphy and Taylor Martocci because of their communication skills and their athleticism.  The team will look different this year without them on the court, but they are not planning on using that as an excuse.

Key seniors this season for the Lady Thunder this are Hailey McCoy, Emily Kaempfer, Sophia Gutierrez, Payton Lindsay, and Alicia Limones.  These ladies were a major asset to the team last year and plan to spread their experience down to the younger ladies on the team.

A couple of the key juniors on the team this season is Morgan McNulty, Amanda Lawson, and Peyton Flynn.  Though they did not get much playing time on varsity last season, Coach Leonard is looking to utilize them to help the team.

The ladies are gearing up for the season, and Coach Leonard and Coach Kauffman are looking to improve the athleticism of the team to be able to outlast the opponent.  Another aspect that the ladies to look to improve on is not getting into foul trouble.  The Lady Thunder are looking to minimize the fouls and not let them affect their game plan.

Their first conference game of the season is away at Jefferson on November 29, and the ladies look to start out their season on the right foot and get a win on the road.
