Trump Begins His Presidency

On 1/20, 2017, Donald J Trump was sworn in as the 45th President of the United States. He was surrounded by his wife Melania, his children Ivanka, Tiffany, Eric, Donald Jr and Barron, along with members of his campaign. Trump broke down partisan walls for a moment by shaking hands and speaking to Hillary Clinton, President Obama and his wife Michelle were present and seemed happy with the speech. The inauguration was on a cloudy and partially rainy day, but people of all backgrounds came to witness history.

With the inauguration of Trump passed and him being the official Commander in Chief, he has not hesitated to begin his promises from the controversial campaign. His first day in office, Trump signed three executive orders. The biggest headline came when Trump signed an order to begin the repeal of ObamaCare, President Obama’s universal health care plan. Trump also has begun talks with Mexico and Canada on N.A.F.T.A, a trilateral trade agreement between North American nations.

For those wondering if Trump would stop tweeting as regularly as he did during his candidacy, they might be disappointed. Trump has begun his new start with a vast variety of tweets that range from bashing Chelsea Manning, President Obama and Mexico. Trump was also given the official Twitter account of the President along with the infamous @realDonaldTrump handle. He has refused to give it up or stop tweeting. Trump has been critical of the Mexican government’s indifference to pay for the wall. He has begun to speak to officials trying to get some support.

With Donald Trump having the power of the President, his cabinet picks and close officials should help his cause. Trump has started off ok, but he needs to gain bipartisan allies if he wants stuff to be accomplished. Trump’s fresh start started on 1/20, but President Trump has a lot ahead of him.
