  1. Hoo Haven Wildlife Rehabilitation and Education Center:
    1. Description: Hoo Haven is a local wildlife rehabilitation center located in Durand. They specialize in North American wildlife and are always in need of new volunteers. Hoo Haven is completely volunteer and donation based, so any help would be extremely useful. Volunteering includes the cleaning, care, and upkeep of the animals, as well as possibly working at educational programs. Hoo Haven requires a minimum of three hours per week to be a regular volunteer and a minimum age of 14.

  2. Bravehearts
    1. Description: Bravehearts is a therapy organization that specializes in horse-riding. Volunteers work at saddling, grooming,  and leading the horses during therapy sessions, as well as cleaning stables. Bravehearts requires a minimum of one hour per week to be a regular volunteer and a minimum age of 14.

  3. Belvidere Boone County Food Pantry
    1. The Belvidere Boone County Food Pantry is a local organization that provides food and non-food essentials to families in need in Boone County. They require volunteers for their food distribution days and stocking. The minimum age requirement is 16.

    1. Swedish American Hospital offers several volunteer opportunities, including volunteering at the information desk, way-finding (assisting guests with directions), patient dismissal, delivery of mail and flowers, gift shop, and the patient walking program.
