2015-2016 School Highlights

    Belvidere North is filled with exciting moments.  There are multiple activities and events that students can take part of.  Here are some highlights of the 2015-2016 school year.

  • Football team advanced to the playoff game with a record of 6-3
  • Girls cross country team takes 2nd in state. Jenna Lutzow placed 2nd.
  • Boys cross country also goes to state and placed 8th.  Eryk Yunk placed 5th as an individual.
  • Seniors and Sophomores win powder puff game
  • Homecoming
  • North hosted the first annual Special Olympics basketball tournament
  • Cheer team takes second in state
  • School hosted the first Rec Night
  • North announced new superintendent, Dr. Daniel Woestman
  • Deca goes to state
  • Jared Cantu was named ‘Mr. Thunder’
  • Students beat faculty in the student faculty games
  • North View starts a newspaper website, everestsatellite.com
  • Journalism students go down state, Haley McCoy placed fourth in review writing.
  • Eryk Yunk broke indoor track record for the 800 with a time of 1:57.5.
  • Sebastian Gutierrez broke high jump records with a 6’8 jump.
  • The 4×8 girls track team (Jenna Lutzow, Sabrina Elder, Brooke Messenger, and Stephanie Robles) also broke school record with a 9:57.91 time.
  • The girls 4×4 track team (Addie Crocker, Sabrina Elder, Vanessa Sida, and Taylor Ferguson)  broke school record 4:15.51 time.
  • Shannon Carlsen broke the discuss record for the second time this year, with a 122 feet and nine inch throw.
  • Enchanted Garden prom
  • Girls from the track team qualify for multiple events at state
