Dig in, it’s turkey day

Thanksgiving is a time to look back at the year and reflect, but more importantly it’s a time to gather and eat delicious food.   Of course there are the classics like turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, and stuffing that are always staples of the feast.  But don’t ever sleep on the amazing side dishes like cornbread, green bean casserole, or homemade jello.

Even though the Thanksgiving bird is the main entree it isn’t like any other meal, it is possible to avoid the turkey all together and still have an amazing meal with all the side dishes that have been prepared. Load the plate up with almost entirely mashed potatoes and still have one of the best meals ever prepared and that is the great thing that sets Thanksgiving dinner apart, the freedom to eat whatever is available and however much of it as possible.

But besides the main course and the side dishes there are all the incredible deserts that have been prepared.  Of course there is the classic pumpkin pie which is always a delicious option, but pumpkin pie is just one of the many sweets to choose from after the main feast. The choices can range from pumpkin pie, apple pie, pecan pie, pumpkin cake, turkey shaped cookies, and caramel brownies

So even though Thanksgiving is a time to give thanks to the people that make life special, its also a time to stuff yourself full of delicious food.
