On Nov 11, Belvidere North’s Wrestling team began to compete, and have been doing well since the season began.

BNHS’s Wrestling team has done well so far in all their meets, putting up a 4-2 record since the season began. The team is hopeful that the season will continue to be successful, as mentioned by one of the team members.

“We have a full lineup and good wrestlers all around. We should be ranked highly too because we beat Prairie Ridge who’s 2A. All in all we should be good in conference,” said Chris Jarka (19).

So far the team has won matches against Freeport, Boylan, Prairie Ridge and Rockford Lutheran and only lost to Oregon and Rockfalls. The team’s last game was close, only losing by four points to Oregon. Since the beginning of the season the team has had a lineup of 15 Varsity members.

The team will take on Harlem, and the match will begin at 5:30 at Harlem HS. Shortly after the team will compete in a tournament, on December 10. The tournament will be located at Sterling HS and will begin at 9:30.

Overall, the team seems hopeful that they will make good progress and do good in conference.
