December music

During this time of year, there are two types of music people will be listening to; holiday and rap. This year was a great year for new music and the great albums keep coming with Childish Gambino, J. Cole, Kid Cudi, Gucci Mane, and Drake. But those are not the only albums being played this December, Christmas music is now blasting in every store and on almost every radio to get you in the holiday mood.

Aside from the rap music topping iTunes charts, Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas is You” is back on top, like it is at this time every year, proving that it is one of the best Christmas songs. But there is always the classics that you can’t help sing along to when they start playing in stores and in the car like Jingle Bells, Deck the Hall, Sleigh Bells, Walking in a Winter Wonderland, We wish you a Merry Christmas, Santa Baby, Feliz Navidad and Silver Bells. With the sound of Christmas bells sticking in people’s heads, everyone is getting excited for the approaching holidays.

Although these new albums won’t exactly put you in a Christmas-y mood, you should surely check them out. The first new album that was released on December 2 was Childish Gambino’s “Awaken, My Love!”. This album is the third album released by rapper Donald Glover and features popular songs such as “Redbone” and “Me and Your Mama”.

The next album that will be released in the coming week is J. Cole’s “4 Your Eyez Only”. The artist released the titles of two tracks, “Everybody Dies” and “False Prophets”, earlier this week. The album appeared in the iTunes pre-order list and will supposedly be dropped by December 9.

Kid Cudi, another popular artist, is releasing “Passion, Pain, and Demon Slayin’” on December 16. This will be his 13th album and will feature songs such as “Surfin’”, “Rose Golden”, and “Frequency”.

Gucci Mane and Drake are also rumored to have albums coming out before 2016 ends. “More Life” by Drake will feature the new hit “Fake Love” which has been on the iTunes charts for a few weeks. Gucci Mane is supposedly releasing “The Return of East Atlanta Santa” also during the holiday season.

Whether it’s Christmas classics or new rap hits, 2016 will finish with some great music, because that is the only thing good to come from this year.
