2016 did not disappoint with cinematic masterpieces but 2017 might end up being a better year for movies. With a whole range of films continuing their series or fresh faces hitting the big screen, 2017 will be the year of fantastic movies. Whether it’s comedy, action or horror, any movie-goer will find a film to enjoy next year.

The most talked about movies of 2017 in the category of action would be Star Wars: Episode VIII, Power Rangers, The Fate of the Furious, Kong: Skull Island, Transformers: The Last Knight, Kingsman: The Golden Circle, The Mummy, Jumanji, Ghost in the Shell, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales and Alien: Covenant. The movies listed are either the continuation of a well known series or a remake of an iconic blockbuster. And those movies are not the only action films, comic book based movies have earned their own category with seven movies being released by Marvel and DC Comics. Spiderman: Homecoming, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2, Justice League, Thor: Ragnorak, Wonder Woman, Logan and The Lego Batman Movie. Trailers for these films have been either recently released or have been circulating through the internet since they premiered at San Diego Comic Con.

Even comedy will have another good year with movies such as Baywatch, Despicable Me 3, Fist Fight, Pitch Perfect 3, The Nut Job 2, The Baby Boss, Smurfs: The Lost Village and Table 19. Even with more titles getting released, these films will surely be ones to see in 2017. Also, Disney is releasing some new movies, alongside Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, such as Coco, Cars 3 and Beauty and the Beast.

And lastly, the horror category continues some popular series or introduces new ideas. Annabelle 2, The Dark Tower, Insidious: Chapter 4, A Cure for Wellness, Split, Patient Zero, The Bye Bye Man, Saw: Legacy, Get Out, Amityville: The Awakening, Rings, It and a possible sequel to World War Z. 2017 will be a good year for horror and will make up for the lack of new, thrilling ideas in 2016. There is even rumors of a Friday the 13th reboot set to release on October 13, 2017.

With all of these new films hitting theaters next year, movie-lovers will be visiting the theaters more than once. Whether it’s to see the new Spiderman movie or challenge your horror-tolerance with Annabelle 2, everyone will find a film to like in 2017.
