Oregon tops Michigan in thriller.

The madness of March continues as the round of the Sweet Sixteen begins. The first games of the third round were Michigan and Oregon, West Virginia and Gonzaga, Purdue and Kansas, and Xavier and Arizona. For the most part the games were nail biters going all the way down to the wire. With the exception of Kansas pulling ahead in the second half and really putting the hurt on the Purdue Boilermakers.

Oregon and Michigan was a one point differential going down to the buzzer. Oregon just barely squeezed out a win over the Wolverines. This set them up to play whoever the winner was of the Purdue and Kansas game that was set to play later in the day. Purdue and Kansas was pretty close when the teams were right around 35 points a piece, but Kansas began to pull away and ended up winning 98-66. This set the MidWest for the Elite Eight.

The next region to set their final two contenders was the West. First up was Gonzaga and West Virginia. Gonzaga, a team that everyone had low expectations for due to their weaker Conference, has been playing some good basketball and ended up beating West Virginia 61-58. This won them a ticket to the Elite Eight and a game against whoever won between Xavier and Arizona. The game between Xavier and Arizona was also a very close one. Both teams were playing all the way down to the buzzer with their hopes and dreams on the line. Xavier, an 11-seed, ended up upsetting the number 2-seed from the West region, Arizona.

With those two regions set for the Elite Eight, there is only the East and the South to finish their Sweet Sixteen games and then the teams are ready to duke it out for the glory of the games of the Final Four.

The four games that are set to play on March 24 is UNC and Butler, and UCLA and Kentucky for the South, also, Wisconsin and Florida, and Baylor and South Carolina for the East. Each team left is going to be battling for their life long dream of playing in the NCAA Championship game. These are the best college teams in the country and all of the viewers are going to be watching in anticipation as they hope that their bracket is the one that ends up on top of it all.
