“Survive and Advance”, a term often associated with the month long battle that is March Madness, has been applied to Belvidere North’s football team during these playoffs.

North blew out Auburn in the first round and survived by a touchdown against Great Lakes North. North now has its toughest matchup yet against Hoffman Estates at home on November 10.

North was led by an impressive performance by Cruz Garza (´18) who rushed for 225 yards and a touchdown.  Quarterback Callahan Diercks (´18) ran in for a score and didn’t turn the ball over once. Diercks ran for 55 yards on the game. North became only the second team in the schoolś history to make it to the quarterfinals.

¨We know we have broken expectations but we want more,¨ said Cruz Garza (´18).

Hoffman Estates is the 7th seed in the tournament and will face their first team who runs a triple option offense.

¨It should be fun,for us, cause we will be executing like normal and they have never seen an offense like ours,¨ said Diercks (´18).

North is expecting the biggest home crowd in the school´s history and will look to be an upset once again against Hoffman Estates.

Good luck to the team and ¨Ring the Bell¨!
