Comp Cheer

The competitive cheer season has officially started the team has been working hard for this moment since the beginning of summer. Last year our varsity team came home with the 1st place trophy at state and they’re going back for another one this year. During the fall season the team worked very well together. Although the team from the fall and winter season is different, many of the same members are on Competitive Cheer.

The team has met with their choreographer, Jared. Jared came and spent three long days with the team to put together a intense routine.

“I was on the team last year when we won state, so I didn’t know if we could have a team/ routine that could top last years but I think if we hit this routine we are guaranteed another state championship,” Hannah Konkler (‘18).

Boys are in the weightroom with JV Coach Cyndi Baird before school working to better their strength. The JV team also is full of great athletes. There is a large and small JV team this year. There’s a lot of talent so coaches felt that having two teams compete at the JV level was a good idea.

“I came to North mainly to cheer and it was a success. I love cheering and winning state showed me I did the right thing,” Alex Jacobs (‘18).
