NFL Week 12 recap

The NFL’s regular season is coming to an end soon, and playoff races are heating up. The Philadelphia Eagles are flying high, fresh off a blowout win against the Chicago Bears. The Minnesota Vikings edged out a win against the Detroit Lions after a blocked kick returned for a touchdown by Detroit was called back. The Los Angeles Chargers put on a snoozefest against the Dallas Cowboys, who are clearly missing star running back Ezekiel Elliott. The Cowboys put up just 6 points. Low scoring has been a common theme for the Cowboys since losing Elliott to suspension.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are 9-2 and hold the first seed in the AFC, although they haven’t been performing up to their normal standards. The results are there so far, but whether they go deep into the playoffs or not remains to be seen. Even if they do, they just can’t seem to ever beat the New England Patriots, who also have a 9-2 record but hold the second seed. The Patriots always seem to dismantle the Steelers come playoff time. Hopefully that doesn’t happen this year.

The Kansas City Chiefs are imploding. After winning five straight to open the season, they have lost five of their last six. Quarterback Alex Smith isn’t even close to playing the way he was at the beginning of the year. Running back Kareem Hunt hasn’t scored a touchdown since Week 3, and hasn’t totaled 100 yards on the ground since Week 5. They’re trying to save their playoff hopes, and they’re still hanging on to the fourth seed, but a huge turnaround will have to come if they want any chance of winning their wild card game.

The Jacksonville Jaguars are 7-4, and their defense is one of the best in the league. Blake Bortles, their starting quarterback, isn’t playing well, but their defense more than makes up for it. It’s gonna be an interesting last few weeks.
