Belvidere North Men’s golf team is led by head coach Alan McCormick and the assistant coach Tim Judd. Although this year’s team is very young, with only three seniors, they still have taken first place in eleven out of their sixteen events. North seniors, Bennet Baker, Ian Hartle, and Dakota Westman have played a big role for Belvidere North. Baker is a returning NIC-10 All- Conference golfer anda 2017 and 2018 state qualifier and has led the team on the course this year.

“Being a senior this year, I have to play that leader role because we have such a young team and I’m trying to set a good example for the rest of them by working hard everyday,” said Baker.

North’s Nathan Lendman (‘21), Billy Sanchez (‘22), Alex Sippy (‘22), Noah Verucci (‘22), and Mason Westerberg (‘23) round out the rest of the varsity team.

North placed 3rd at the NIC-10 Conference meet with 28 points. Baker finished in 4th place with a 154 and Lendman in 5th with a 155. During Regional, Belvidere North’s Bennett Baker (79), Alex Sippy (83) and Nathan Lendman (86) all moved on to the Burlington Central Sectional at Whisper Creek in Huntley

. Bennett Baker, shot an 81, and  missed qualifying for state by one stroke.

“It was very disappointing falling only one stroke short but there’s nothing I can do about it now, but move on, said” Baker (‘20).

Although no individual advance to state they still had a great year and everyone improved individually throughout the year which in the long run is a successful season.
