With the All-Star break approaching the teams are starting to get a legitimate feel of their teams and who their best players are. In the East, the Bucks are ruling the conference. They are 36 – 6, they currently hold the best record in the entire NBA. They are led by potential MVP candidate and international superstar Gianis Antetukumpo, a 6-11 guard who is a scoring threat from anywhere on the floor. He is surrounded by shooters and other role players who understand the goal of the organization.

In the Western Conference, the Los Angeles Lakers are at the top at 33-7 which is the second best record in the NBA. They are led by arguably the best player to ever touch a basketball, Lebron James. Although he is not Michael Jordan, James is the next best player to put on an NBA uniform. Anthony Davis who is a multiple time all-star is also a huge contributor to L.A. this year. The Lakers picked him up in the offseason and it has done nothing but make them better. It gives a guy like James, who averages 11 assists a game, a big target to dump the ball off to. These two teams look to keep winning as the halfway point approaches.

The league is seeing a slow but gradual change in the faces of the league. A new breed of talent is taking the league by storm, their younger and coming with more energy than ever before. Guys like Luka Doncic, De’aaron Fox, and Zion williamson are just a few of the new and upcoming faces in the league.  Zion Williamson who was drafted first overall in the 2019 NBA draft is set to make his debut Thursday January 16. Zion has been out the entire year after suffering a knee injury in pre season. Zion is the first of his kind from a size and athleticism standpoint, it will be interesting to see how he handles the knee injury. The season is still very long it should be an exciting finish to the season.

The Chicago Bulls currently hold on to the 9th place in the Eastern Conference they have a 15-27 record. The team is still very young and is in somewhat of a rebuilding stage. They have a lot of young talent who had a lot of success at the collegiate level. With experience the team should be able to develop into a real contender in the near future. Their next game is Friday January 17th in Philadelphia as they take on the 76ers
