District Snow Day Changes

Kelsey Lancaster, Reporter

At the beginning of this month, the Belvidere School District has made some changes having to do with snow days. Depending on the weather, instead of having a snow day they will also have the options of either an hour late start, or an early dismissal. Decision to cancel school completely will be made on a case by case basis. The school district created these options, so students wouldn’t have to lose a day of learning. If the weather is really bad, such as weather in the negatives or sleeting; they will still cancel school. However, if snow plows need more time to clear the roads, then Belvidere schools will have a late start. For early dismissal students would be on an early release schedule. As for Rock Valley Students, they are to follow Rock Valley’s closure notifications.
