Belvidere North has always had a reputation of having talented athletes, but one senior has made a reputation for himself.

Ecclesias “Yukki” Fambro (‘16)  is on Varsity wrestling here at North and he just won regionals on Feb 6.

He gives credit to his teammates for his success.

“Without them, I wouldn’t be who I am, they work me hard on the mat every day”, said Fambro”, said Fambro (‘16).

Fambro also won his 100th career match early February. He worked hard this offseason to improve is skills.

“I focused on what I was already doing well,” said Fambro (‘16).”I worked especially hard on my neutral takedowns and stuff like that”, said Fambro (‘16).

“My team and coaches are a huge reason for all my accomplishments”, said Fambro.

Seniors with great athletic ability are always on the lookout for athletic scholarships and Fambro doesn’t know yet about his wrestling future after high school.

“If a scholarship for wrestling comes my way, of course I will strongly consider it, but right now I haven’t thought about it”, said Fambro (‘16).

Fambro hopes that he will have a strong postseason like he did last year.

“I lost by 1 at state and I placed well at sectionals last year, hopefully that continues,” said Fambro (‘16).

Fambro isn’t going to be representing North this year at state, “I am not going this year,” said Fambro.

Fambro will either continue his wrestling in college or he won’t but either way he definitely left an impact on North’s wrestling season this year.
